HBO TV-serie: Westworld

Every now and then, there are series on TV that are different from any previous one and Westworld is like that. Now the latest season is the third in the series, but we recommend starting the series from the very beginning to know the backgrounds that have led to the current situation.

HBO:

Westworld is a highly inventive drama series that takes a thirst for adventure and excitement to brand new dangerous dimensions. Westworld is a futuristic fantasy park where a group of androids stop following a script carefully designed by their programmers and start behaving in a strange way.

The show’s star guards include Anthony Hopkins, Ed Harris, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Thandie Newton and Jeffrey Wright. The series is based on a 1973 film written and directed by Michael Crichton (Jurassic Park).

The television version is performed by Jonathan Nolan (Interstellar, Knight of the Night) and Lisa Joy (Pushing Daisies, Burn Notice).

Cast: Ed Harris, Anthony Hopkins, Thandie Newton, Jeffrey Wright, Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden, Evan Rachel Wood – one of the rising stars of the series

Of these actors, especially Ed Harris and Anthony Hopkins do their part with the expected professional touch. And this series will also raise new stars for the coming years.

Authors: Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy

Year: 2016

What’s going on here?

The first season begins with an introduction and the situation of the future when the actual society feels too boring and another reality has been built for people, where robots that look like people act according to stories scripted by humans and people pay a lot of money to get to play/act in these stories and do things they can never do in real life – that is, kill and destroy.

Season one of the series shows the stories largely through the eyes of these “robots” and the pattern seems quite clear to the viewer, but is things as unambiguous as the series suggests?

Seasons 2 and 3

Season 2 of Westworld, and especially season three, is so far removed from the number one part of the series that these seasons need to be watched in the right order so that the reality and purpose of the different people are known to the viewer. The story moves smoothly forward and gradually it becomes clear that what began in the wild west style will end in completely different environments. It should be remembered that the events of the series are set in the future.

If you like sci-fi stories, give the series a few hours to watch. And indeed, it’s worth starting from the beginning, although in the second season it sometimes feels like nothing’s going forward, and in season three we’re just getting into a new gear.

The protagonists of the story come to light quite early on, but when you watch this series, you have to remember that nothing is probably more than insecure.
